My computer cannot see the ARC or PBK microphone.

Try the following:

  • Make sure the USB cable connects to both the microphone and the computer.
  • Try disconnecting the USB microphone and trying another port on your computer.
  • Make sure that your computer is not set to use a default microphone. You can check this in Windows Device Manager under your control panel.

How to reset the microphone in Windows:

  1. Click the Windows Start icon.
  2. Select the control panel (the gear symbol on Windows 10)
  3. In the search bar (located at the upper right corner of the window on Windows 7) type "Device Manager."
  4. From the search results, click and open the Device Manager.
  5. In the list of devices, click the arrow next to "Sound, video and game controllers" to reveal the list of items.
  6. Right-click the defective microphone and select "Uninstall" from the drop-down list. Click "OK" in the message box.
  7. Right-click any item in the device manager list and select “Scan for hardware changes.”
