Amazing Clarity and Stage
I've been a fan of Martin Logan going back to my teen years, when I was selling audio equipment at a high end audio store in the Pacific NW. Since then, it has been a goal of mine to acquire a pair of ML's. Now I can finally say that day has come!
I purchased a pair of the Vista's w/o audition since I knew the sound of the MLs previously (it’s a sound that you cannot forget!). Absolutely amazing. Detail, and staging are something that you cannot describe with any justice, it is a must hear (but I will give it a shot).
What impresses me the most is how clear and transparent the sound of these speakers are. I've been able to listen to all different makes and models of speakers, and found ML ESLs to be hands down the best at communicating the intent of the music. I am a believer that sound is the sum of all parts. Details and nuances, either intentional or not are all part of the music. That last breadth of air before then next passage sung are such nuances that are captured and articulated by the Vista's. I can close my eyes, and envision the stage in front of me. See the plucking of the guitar strings. Witness the drummer tapping away at the kit in the left corner. If I didn't know better, I could probably make out the stage hands wrestling about in a live recording (that is how close to the music and venue the MLs get you). The Vistas are true to the music.
I attempted to use a 12" ported sub with them, but had to break down and purchase a Grotto i to match. It isn't that the sub was bad. It is that the MLs really require sub that isn't ported. I am close to having that dream system, and can honestly say that I can live with what I have now for a very long time! Bonus - it works flawlessly as a HT setup to. Personally never thought a high quality system should be biased between music and theatre. That doesn't make sense.
fantastic
I am currently running 11 Martin Logan speakers, a pair of Polk audio, a pair of Klipsch and an extra older 500watt RmS Infiniti subwoofer to go along with the Martin Logan MLT-2.5 subwoofer. My Martin Logans are Vistas for the front, Martin Logan Encore TF for front center, Martin Logan motion 10's for the rear, front side and surround and rear center and one of the subwoofers are from my Martin Logan MLT 2.5 surround system and my other pair of rear speakers are Klipsch. I am running an Onkyo 890 A/V receiver(135WX7 RMS) and a Samsung Digital Receiver(110W X7 RMS). The sound from the Martin Logan Vistas are absolutely fantastic. I only turn on the extra a/v amp when playing the XBOX 360 and on some surround movies. My grandkids absolutely love this system. My wife and I have both commented that we are hearing every separate instrument with the Vistas and the Encore TF. I have had Bose 901's and Carver tower speakers, but I have never had speakers as clear as these. I just love them. At some future date I might replace the Polk Audio and Klipsch with Martin Logan speakers. I will keep the Infiniti subwoofer because it is great. Not really sure I need all of these speakers, but they do sound great.
Now that's Detail
After owning an awesome set of Paradign for the last 16 years, I figured it was time to treat myself again.
These Martin Logan Vista's have unrealistic detail and a beautiful sound stage. I cannot wait until I have the break-in period completed. Imagine... They only get better!
As you listen, the Vista's create a detail that no one instrument is dominate, but you can hear every detail in the balanced manner as it was intended. The bass is not a thud or a boom, but is a drawn out low note as if the music was live. I always review speakers with "Phil Collin's & the Big Band" CD. There are horns, sax's, guitars, top hat cymbals being played with brushes and every detail is crystal clear.
Funny, I was a little miffed when I saw the electrical cord with the speaker packaging. I am not sure what "energizing" the speaker is, but the results are outstanding!
These is not a purchase, but an investment!
A wonderful neighbor friendly speaker
I love the Summit X, but it is a little out of my budget. The Vantage is great unless you live in an apartment and want to keep you neighbors happy. That said, the Vista is a perfect fit. The 43 Hz roll off is great, since frequencies below that (mainly 30 Hz and below) give you unwanted attention from the neighbors are not present.
The dynamics are stunning, and the speakers are pretty accommodating to rooms that aren't perfect. Also, if you want a little more clarity, then Bi-amping is a great option.
This is my 3rd pair of ML's and I am always pleased with the performance!
I have owned these speakers for a while now. The sound is pure and dynamic. I also have the sub woofer for extended bass. Wheter listening to music or home theater, the preformance and sound quaility is outstanding. Everytime someone has first seen the the peakers they have commented on thier look and construction. A worthwhile investment in my opinon.

Vista the best
I've have these speakers for 2 months and am very happy, they play great!
Vistas Are Great
I recently bought a pair of Vistas. They replace a pair of upgraded Altec Lansing Magnificents. I design high end valve amplifiers. The combination of the Vistas and a quality tube amplifier is stunning. A very fulfilling listening experience. The Vistas have a clarity and presence that can not be equaled by non-ESL systems. I love them, just wish I would have gotten them earlier. Construction and materials are first class. Good show Martin Logan.
The best sound I've heard from a speaker.
After listening to numerous products from other companies, I settled on ML Vistas for my 2 front center channels. Of all other speakers I've listened to, Paradigm Reference, B & W, Definitive Tech, these were the most true to life sound, bar none. ML Vista speakers I found to have the crystal clear highs, crisp mid-range response, that is consistent throughout the frequency range.
New Vistas
Yes, there are new musical Vistas in my future. They are just beginning to loosen up a tad and what a smooth aural pleasure they are becoming. But I guess with all the tasty ML products I have purchased you think I could get a t-shirt. Once properly angled (thanks ML videos)they really begin to make a viable sound stage. And the nice fellow who bought my Clarity's was as excited as I was!
